Whats up with the name??

Once i heard 'Upside Down Pickle in a Jar' as a metaphor for a baby in a womb, and thought it was pretty fitting for our blog. This is for all the family and friends that Ben and I unfortunately dont get to speak to often. You can feel like you are here in all the action!

8 MORE WEEKS.

8 MORE WEEKS is all Ben (we) have left in school.
I say we, because it has been a struggle for both of us.
When he started, we lived in our first apartment and we had only been married not even two years and now we have our son and live in a different home.
He wouldn't have been able to do this without my grandparents and my parents. My parents offered to let us live with them for as long as we needed to so he could go to school and we wouldn't have to worry about too many bills since he wouldn't be able to work as much. And my grandparents helped in another very important way. So we had a lot of help. We have officially been in this apartment for a year this Sunday and it has just flown by, granted I was pregnant for most of it. But I don't know how all the other people in his class are, but my husband works his ass off.
Two weeks ago he had clinicals M, T, F from 5:30 am and went straight to work till 11pm. And when he got home, he didn't sleep, he did homework. He probably got a total of 10 hours of sleep that whole week. But he didn't once complain. he even did homework on Saturday morning and then took family pictures that afternoon. He did this often and even had a baby somewhere in there!
So in 8 weeks, it's all over.
clinical paperwork- which I have helped with and let me tell you, it sucks.
journals
Med sheets
Hesi's
drug calc tests
ALL OVER.
It's not that bad either, with him gone all the time. I have help with Finn since it;s summertime and grandma and grandaddy can help one day a week. but I do get tired keeping up with Finn all night and all day those days.
Good thing for Ben and I is that Finn is sleeping through the night most nights. Last night he slept 9 hours straight!
In 8 weeks Ben will have a pinning ceremony and Finn and I will be so proud of him. We already are.
And then the next June, we will see him graduate.
I'm already planning two things:
1. A RELAXING vacation for me and him
2. A party to celebrate with everyone who helped us out so he could do this!

My Beckers

This is my sweet beckers and I on my wedding day. Beckers, Rebekah, is my cousin. We really hated each other for years based on assumptions we conjured up about each other. She thought I was a smoking, drinking, party girl that had loose morals. I WAS TWELVE!!!!! So when I was around 18 somehow we got in touch after years of not seeing each other and we talked for a good 5 hours on the phone. I talked to her almost every single night for two years and then when I got married and was busy all the time, I slacked off on talking to her. But recently I have been calling her during Finn's last bottle of the night.
She is just the right amount of weird crazy to keep me balanced friendship-wise. That girl's nuts.
But we feed off of each other!
So I would like to give a HUGE thank you to  her for listening to me for 6 years! I wish I got to see her more, but soon she will hopefully visit to meet Finn!

Hella busy May

Why not start with some cuteness??
He was such a sweetie when he woke up!

Avery played his last concert of his high school music career:
Thomas visited!

Finn discovered his feet, and he cant stop looking at them!
Avery Graduated!

So like I said, Thomas visited us! He told us he wanted to come for Avery's graduation and he wanted it to be a suprise. So He got here ans stayed for a week:
He and Finn got along well lol.
And Avery Graduated! It was a nice graduation and we had lunch at Old Mexico.
We then had the photographer that took our wedding pictures, take my side of the family's portraits. I know Finn smiled for a few so I cant wait to see them!

This past week I took Finn to get his 2 month shots. He has grown in height and weight, and he seems to be developing on track. He did extremely well with the appointment and was only upset for a little while after the shots. He's was a little fussy that night, but he's back to normal now.

So while I was pregnant, I planned on working a few days each week this summer, but I decided I wanted to stay home with Finn. So the plans I made with people to watch him aren't really needed. But we decided one day out of the week I will drop him off withe my Grandparents for a few hours so I could do housework and any errands I needed to run. So I have done it 2 times and feel like I get so accomplished in just 4 hours. Then I go back and have dinner with them and go home. It's really nice to have a break and get some time to myself. And it is especially nice because nowadays I am keeping up with Finn at night and during the day because Ben is super swamped with his school stuff and work.

I am trying to get rid of stuff that Finn outgrows as he outgrows it. Not all of it, but just some. I gave a Friend a box of diapers that he outgrew that were left over. And there are some clothes that I am trying to Find a home for. Gotta wait and see if my friend is having a boy before I give them away. She finds out in 6 days and I cant wait!!!!

Speaking of exciting things....there's a WEDDING!!!!! another one! I Love weddings. Ashley and Phillip get married tomorrow and it's Ben and mine's first date since I gave birth. I'm kinda stoked.

Mom is watching Finn for us and I am trying to pump as much extra milk as I can right now with the electric pump for the night.
fun stuff. lol

First shopping trip

We have so much coming up in the next month!
Most of it's birthdays and showers, but trying to find gifts for these occasions is crazy! I am the worst gift picker-outer.  I know these people so well that I over think what to give them and I spend wayyyyy too much time and eventually just end up getting whatever. If I ask Ben what they would like, his answer is always "whatever you want"....so not much help, but ok.
So we have
Mother's Day (pretty excited it's my first)
Ashley L's lingerie shower
Ashley L's wedding-found a babysitter
Avery's Graduation-found a sitter for that too
Thomas's Bday
Grandma's bday
Malina's Birthday

We haven't left Finn with anyone except Mom and Dad. Once when I was sick and Ben was working, she and Dad took him for about 5 hours so I could sleep some of it off with medicine and not be out of it to take care of Finn, once for a doctor's appointment and once for an hour for a wedding. They are watching him for us when we go to Ashley's wedding in June though. I'm pretty excited because that will be the first time Ben and I go out together since Finn got here! we get to dress up too...
I know I'll be texting her the whole time asking how he is though!

And since my entire family will be going to graduation, Amy and Tucker are going to watch Finn while we are at the ceremony, for about an hour. Judging by the way they were with him the other night, I am completely comfortable with it and I reallllyyyyyyyy appreciate it! We actually had this set up before he was even born haha

Changing subjects....Ben and I took Finn with us to Valdosta yesterday to get some of this and also just to get out of town. It went extremely well! With both of us there it was nice to take turns changing his diaper and carrying him when he wanted to be held. We went to target, old navy, the mall, and Kohl's. It was a good day!

My friends are better than yours...

Our baby is a wonderful baby.
He was good about setting a routine. At week 5 a sleep routine was established. It just kinda fell into place. Because Ben works till 11, we wait till he gets home to start it. It's bath, bottle, cuddle, bed. and if we do this the same every night, he'll sleep 5 or 6 hours, wake up to eat, and then go back to sleep for 3 or 4 more hours. Ben and I work our own things in there too. For example, When Ben gets home, I'll shower and then we'll bathe Finn, I'll feed him while Ben showers. And lately I get up with him on the first feeding, and Ben will do the second. It's smooth when we work together.

I've also been getting out a lot. And Finn goes with me. He's so good with that. Like the car ride and then changing his diaper in different places and just chilling with different people, he doesn't mind it at all! Most Nights we go to Mom' house, so he's used to everything there. But last night we went to Amy and Tucker's place to help with some stuff and he was one super chill kid! He loved being held by Amy, and talked to Tucker quite a bit.

He's a pretty awesome lil' dude!

Rolling over

News:
-Last week I layed Finn on the love seat in the living room on his tummy. He fell asleep in my arms and I had things to do. So I pulled the ottoman up to the edge to block him from falling on the floor if he started moving. I stepped into the kitchen and literally one minute later, I walked back and found him laying on his back! Little booger rolled over! So Mom looked in my baby book and I did that when I was 3 months. He was 5 weeks!
-Finn had his first month checkup. After pooping on the table, himself, and the floor, he had a vaccine and got a spider man band aid. It was kinda cute :)
-I had my 5 week checkup and everything was great! I told the doctor that all my friends wanted to see the scar and my tummy and it looked so good that they wanted her to do their c-sections. I'm drumming up business for her lol I should get a commission...
-Finn has gained more weight and inches. as of last Wednesday he is 24 inches long and weighs 12.2 pounds. He has outgrown all of his 0-3 and 3 month sleepers. Some of the onesies still fit though. He just couldn't stretch his legs out! So my one and a half month old is wearing 3-6 month clothes. One of the brands he wears 9 month onesies...

Here's some cuteness for ya...

I really hope his eyes stay blue, or go to green like mine.
